Rotary golf tourney: two cars for winners

TWO CARS FOR “HOLE IN ONE”: With the kind indulgence of our readers, I am reprinting below an announcement I made as the ChangeMaker President of the Rotary Club of Intramuros of Rotary International District 3810, regarding the two cars the club is intending to give away for golfers who can make “hole in one” shots during a golf tournament on October 8, 2011.

The invitation extends to everyone from Aparri to Jolo who will be interested to join the tournament after reading this column for today: “24 JULY 2011, First announcement from RC Intramuros: Two Cars for `Hole in One’ Shots.

“This early, may I invite all Rotarians from District 3810, especially my Classmates, ChangeMaker and Leader Presidents, to participate in the Golf Tournament that the Rotary Club of Intramuros seeks to hold on October 8, 2011, God willing, at the Club Intramuros Golf Club in Intramuros, Manila.

GOLF TOURNEY TO BENEFIT LITERACY PROJECTS: “RC Intramuros is preparing to give away possibly two Picanto Kia Sedan Cars for `Hole in One’ shots, as well as other valuable items, including trophies and medals.

“The proceeds of the tournament will go to the Club’s scholarship program for PLM’s poor but deserving students, and for our literacy projects for the benefit of Indigenous (Aeta) children, and other public school children from District 3810’s areas of coverage---Manila, Pasay City, Cavite and Occidental Mindoro.

1 John 2:9-11 talks about hating his brothers and sisters: “Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister is still in the darkness. Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble. But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them…”
